Best c++/directX book availible for C++ experienced programmer?

I have alot of C++ experience, especially with .net. I have worked on a game before using directx, but it was only briefly and some time ago. I have no MFC experience, but I am willing to learn. I want something thats meant for a beginner to programming games but not C++.

I know that I most likely will need a number of books (one for graphics, engine, etc.)

I heard that Game Coding Complete by Mike McShaffry is a great book, but is from 2004 so might be a little dated?

Thanks in advance!

check the book section of gamedev.net - they also have a lot of resources about game programming and graphic programming. devmaster.net is also good.
